There's nothing more amazing than A truly high-quality lavender essential oil. Get sweep away with its energy and healing qualities....
It is not only calming, relaxing and balancing to both the physical and emotional but it has been documented to improve concentration and mental acuity.
I love to apply lavender to my skin (so nourishing) along with adding it to my chemical free skin care regiment. I also add some to my bath salts when taking a bath (it's the ultimate for a relaxing home spa), dab it on my temples when I have a headache, apply it to my jaw at night when I am clinching my teeth, rub it onto burns for faster healing, or just take a whiff when I need to unwind.
This "swept away" feeling doesn't happen with lavender of lesser quality. Nor does it happen if your olfactory system is clogged with artificial fragrances from day to day chemicals.
Any old drug-store lavender will not do for you what true therapeutic grade will.
What you may not know about therapeutic grade lavender is that not only is it great for healing cuts, burns and acne scars but it is also great for high blood pressure, PMS, psoriasis, scarring, stretch marks, hair loss, insomnia and nervous tension issues.
I add it in a spray bottle with purified water for after sun spray, we don’t burn or peal. (check at the bottom of the page for the recipe)
Don’t mistake Lavadin for Lavender. It just simply is not the same and you will not get the same affect.
How do I know the difference?
Today, just about every bottle of lavender you pick up is marked "100% Pure" or boasts that it comes from France. The truth is, France exports approx. 100 times the amount of lavender oil it produces. No, that's not an error. France exports tons more lavender oil than they actually produce. How can they do that? By distilling the same lavender plant material multiple times and adding solvents, thinners and artificial fragrance to "stretch" their batches.
It takes 27 square feet of lavender plants to produce a 15ml bottle of Young Living Lavender.
Another way they do it is by substituting lavendin for lavender. Most of the lavender oil sold in America is the hybrid, "lavendin" which acts as the most common "counterfeit"oil for lavender. It is usually grown in France or China, Russia, Tasmania or another countries. If it is grown outside of France, it is brought to France and blended with solvents such as propylene glycol, DEP or DOP to increase volume; and with synthetic linolyl acetate for fragrance.
So if you have ever tried Lavender and you think “this doesn’t work” check the label a little closer.
In addition to this, there are huge chemical companies that specialize in the synthetic duplication of every essential oil that exists. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is where low-priced oils come from.
Is it possible for synthetic or adulterated lavender oil to help heal your burn? Or nourish your skin? Or really relax your nervous system? No, it's not. But synthetic or adulterated oils CAN causerashes, burning, skin irritations and allergic reactions.
A friend of mine learned a valuable lesson long ago when she became violently ill afterusing an inexpensive essential oil she bought from the healthfood store. It was the first essential oil she tried because it was cheaper. I then introduced her to true quality therapeutic grade oil. What adifference quality makes!
