"There are no scientific studies to verify the validity of the statement that "If you don't like the smell of an essential oil, that means you need it."
That statement is based on observation. When an oil stirs up unpleasantness, that is usually a sign that toxins are being stirred up, either chemical toxins or emotional ones. It isn't the oil that is unpleasant, it is the toxic substances or emotions that are unpleasant. When they have been cleared, the oil smells okay.
That is the theory and the thinking behind the statement, but has not been rigorously proven by the scientific method."

If you just can't stand the smell of an oil, and the label states it is safe for ingestion (most Young Living essential oils are safe for internal use) then take it in a gel capsule or in water or juice.
Another suggestion is to apply it to the soles of your feet. Not only is that a long way from your nose, but your feet have a high concentration of pores and the oil gets absorbed into your bloodstream very efficiently and quickly.
